Last evening, at a glittering reception in London hosted by EY (Ernst & Young), and supported by sponsors and supporters including the Financial Times, the 37 London and South regional finalists in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2016 were excited witnesses to the announcement of the winners that will now go through the final selection of the overall UK winner to be announced in October 2016. Each business leader present has been recognised for their contribution to building and leading successful, dynamic and growing businesses.
The awards judges assess the candidates on a number of detailed criteria headlined under these key headings:
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Financial performance
- National and global impact
- Personal integrity and influence
- Strategic direction
Kym Denny, CEO of hVIVO plc – a pioneering respiratory biotechnology business helping to accelerate drug development – was selected as the London and South regional health and life sciences winner, reflecting her passion and leadership of new, disruptive approaches to transform the drug development process.
Commenting on the announcement an ecstatic Kym Denny said: “I am so honoured and excited to have reached this stage of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year awards, in particular when considering the wealth and breadth of stunningly impressive fellow entrepreneurs committed to change the world in some way who were being judged alongside me. With this award, I am proud to represent the hard work and achievements of not just myself, but of everyone at hVIVO, and our fantastic supportive investors, as we work to deliver better treatments, faster.”
