WVC 2015, Washington, USA, 7 – 9 April 2015

The world’s leading research company in human viral challenge models, Retroscreen Virology, has announced one of its scientific and medical leadership team will be speaking at 2015 World Vaccine Congress in the USA.

Dr Martin Johnson, Senior Medical Director at Retroscreen Virology, is going to be talking about the Retroscreen hVIVO human viral challenge model and how it can be applied to help accelerate drug and vaccine development.

Dr Johnson said: “I’m looking forward to attending and presenting at World Vaccine Congress. The range and quality of speakers and presentation content is impressive and I am pleased to be amongst such an influential and informed community. My presentation – Human Viral Challenge Studies; accelerating drug development – will show that the Human Viral Challenge Model can provide useful guidance for the subsequent design of larger field based studies. As well as this I will indicate how the Model has shown to be predictive of the results of subsequent field based studies in several case examples.

The World Vaccine Congress USA , now in its 15th year, takes place between 7 – 9th April 2015 in Washington DC, and promises to be the meeting place for vaccine professionals from industry, academia, non-profit organizations and government to discuss challenges and successes from all the major vaccine stakeholders.

Retroscreen, gold sponsors of the event, specialises in providing human viral challenge clinical services to third party study sponsors, helping to accelerate drug and vaccine development. Retroscreen is a rapidly growing UK life sciences company pioneering a technology platform called hVIVO which uses human challenge models of disease involving healthy volunteers to study new drugs and investigate disease in a safe, controlled, clinical environment.

Retroscreen will have an exhibition display stand at the World Vaccine Congress 2015 event and a business development presence. If you would like to make contact with Retroscreen whilst at the event, please email us at

Notes to editors:

Retroscreen has established itself as the world leader in this field through the provision of clinical research services to third party study sponsors. The platform has a much wider application in helping to better understand illness because the best way to understand human disease is by studying it in humans, not laboratory models. Since its inception, Retroscreen has successfully carried out over 40 clinical studies, involving more than 85 quarantines and in excess of 1800 volunteers for a cross-section of leading industry, governmental and academic clients.
